The paddler who will be the first to undertake an approved tour in any of the classes where no tour so far exists will be the first record holder in his class.
How can more than one record be noted in the same year, but with different number of days? Some have reached the finish line at new record time. Unfortunately, the record hasn't lasted that long since another paddler became the new record holder. We take note of all records as they are set.
